Welcome to the Portland Satsang

Our satsang gathers most Sundays across the Portland area to chant Amma's names, sing bhajans, and pray together, and pours that devotion into one of our largest Mother's Kitchen efforts — feeding neighbors in need every week.

Whether you have known Amma for years or are simply curious, all are warmly welcome to join us.

When we dedicate ourselves solely to the well-being of others, it is our own mind that becomes pure. When you give your friend a bouquet of flowers, you are the one who first enjoys their beauty and fragrance. In the same way, you can derive happiness from selfless acts.

— Amma

Amma encourages devotees to gather regularly, whether weekly at a home or a hall, to sing, meditate, and pray together, and then to share a meal as a spiritual family. It is an atmosphere that steadies the mind, uplifts everyone present, and quietly shapes the children who grow up in it.

Satsang Schedule

Weekly

We gather most Sundays at rotating venues around Portland: chanting the 108 Names of Amma and the 1000 Names of Devi at 4:00 PM, devotional singing at 5:00 PM, and arati and closing prayers at 6:45 PM. Email us for the current location. All are warmly welcome.

Mother's Kitchen

Active since 2006 with more than fifty volunteers, our Mother's Kitchen serves food every Sunday through local partners — Dignity Village, Blanchet House, Potluck in the Park, Sunshine Pantry, and Sisters of the Road — and helps with disaster relief and clothing and hygiene drives. To lend a hand, contact Arunima Menon.

Kitchen seva
Children, never waste an opportunity to serve. The entire world looks up to those who have the heart to do selfless service.
