On September 19, for Vishwa Seva Dinam, Minnesota Amma Satsang volunteers gathered at Open Arms of Minnesota to help pack meals in support of its mission that “there’s always room for one more at our table.”
For nearly 40 years, this local nonprofit has provided medically tailored meals to thousands of individuals and families across Minnesota who are living with life-threatening illnesses and critical health conditions. Since 1986, Open Arms of Minnesota has delivered more than 13 million medically tailored meals at no cost to individuals living with conditions such as HIV/AIDS, cancer, amyotrophic lateral sclerosis (ALS), multiple sclerosis, end-stage renal disease, congestive heart failure, and chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD), as well as to their families.
In celebration of Amma’s birthday, the Minnesota Amma Satsang also hosted a traditional Kerala Sadya for the community on September 21 at the Hindu Mandir in Minneapolis. The gathering brought everyone together in the spirit of love, service, and community, with a beautiful celebration centered around food, fellowship, and devotion.
