The night of February 14th, 2026 was one to remember at MA Center LA in Redondo Beach, as devotees gathered to celebrate Mahashivaratri in a spirit of love, devotion and deep spiritual practice. The hall was beautifully decorated, with a divine altar radiating serenity and grace. The program began at 8:00 PM and continued past midnight, opening with a video narrating the story of Shivaratri — a time for meditation, self-purification and awakening to one's inner light.
Vajraang shared Amma's words on the significance of Shivaratri, highlighting how true worship of Lord Shiva lies in dissolving the ego and living a life of awareness and compassion. As the evening deepened, the community chanted the Lalita Sahasranama, the 1,000 names of the Divine Mother, and performed the Shiva Linga Abhishekam — collectively bathing the lingam with milk and water, symbolizing purity, surrender and gratitude. The chanting of the Lingashtakam and a series of Shiva bhajans carried the gathering into a meditative and jubilant silence.
The night concluded with arati offered to both Lord Shiva and Amma. The well-attended celebration left everyone feeling uplifted and renewed, grateful for the opportunity to celebrate this sacred festival together.
