Guru Purnima at MA Center LA, led by Swami Dayamritananda Puri, was a day filled with laughter, joy, delicious food, community and auspicious spiritual practices. The celebration began with sevite devotees arriving to complete the finishing touches in the hall, on Amma's altar and in the Amma Shop, while cooks chanted their mantras in the kitchen, preparing the many dishes for the Guru Purnima prasad dinner.
AYUDH youth sponsored a school-supply drive on behalf of local underserved families, collecting backpacks, lunchboxes and stationery that soon filled the tables. As guests settled in, the Garland of Gratitude offerings began — devotees sharing experiences with Amma that were touching, humorous and always full of personal insight — followed by a delightful game of Charades enjoyed with much laughter.
Swami Dayamritananda Puri then led all in Pada Puja, satsang and bhajans, inviting devotees to experience deep gratitude and surrender. His talk overflowed with Amma's love, kindness and Dharmic wisdom, reminding all of "Amma's precious gifts in her teachings of selfless service, devotion and surrender." The program concluded with a rousing set of bhajans dedicated to the Guru and a beautiful prasad dinner shared by all.
