Welcome to the Cincinnati Satsang

Our satsang gathers once a month for prayer, meditation, a reading from Amma's teachings, and devotional singing, and stays active through Mother's Kitchen, the Amrita Book Club, and Integrated Amrita Meditation (IAM) classes. Whether you have known Amma for years or are simply curious, all are warmly welcome to join us.

When we dedicate ourselves solely to the well-being of others, it is our own mind that becomes pure. When you give your friend a bouquet of flowers, you are the one who experiences the gratification of giving. You are the first one to enjoy the beauty and fragrance of the flowers. In the same way, you can derive happiness from selfless acts.

— Amma

Amma encourages devotees to gather regularly, whether weekly at a home or a hall, to sing, meditate, and pray together, and then to share a meal as a spiritual family. It is an atmosphere that steadies the mind, uplifts everyone present, and quietly shapes the children who grow up in it.

Satsang Schedule

Monthly

We meet on the first Saturday of each month at 6:00 PM, hosted in members' homes (the location is shared by email). Gatherings are informal — a prayer, a short meditation, a reading from Amma's teachings, and devotional singing. All are welcome, including newcomers and children.

Mother's Kitchen

Once a month our members cook and deliver a meal to a local homeless shelter — some prepare food to bring, others cook on site. Newcomers are always welcome to lend a hand; email us to take part.

Amrita Book Club

Begun on Amma's 64th birthday, the Amrita Book Club helps devotees deepen their understanding of her teachings in community — reading and discussing books Amma has chosen. Email us if you'd like to join.

Meditation

Children, never waste an opportunity to serve. The entire world looks up to those who have the heart to do selfless service.
