The Pacific Northwest Retreat took place at Camp Pringle on beautiful Shawnigan Lake, on Vancouver Island. It began on February 14, with more people arriving the next day, and about 100 people were present for Swami Dayamrita's visit on February 15. We were so delighted to have Swami with us. He answered our questions in an extended question-and-answer session, led the 108 and 1,000 names and uplifting bhajans, and then served us dinner. On Sunday morning he led us in archana before leaving for his next destination. We are so grateful for this time with him.
We are also grateful to everyone who worked so hard to make the retreat so special: wonderful food cooked on site, well-organized registration, lodgings near the lake (many rooms had lake views), a snack shop with amazing chai, a dance class, guided walks, a group heart-opening session, yoga classes, birdhouse building and a raffle, with funds raised for the Pacific Northwest centre. The retreat ended with a few stalwart souls completing the tidy-up – last but definitely not least! There were activities for all, but perhaps the best was the chance to gather and share our joy.
