Our yearly yard sale took place on an overcast day in August. Rain was promised, but we braved the forecast. Starting early, we unpacked and set things out on tables, shelves and tarpaulins. There seemed to be a never-ending stream of donations to unpack – and while we were unpacking, the crowds came! For the rest of the day we bargained and sold, sold and bargained, until about 3:00 pm, when we closed up shop with raindrops starting to fall as we packed up the last few unsold items. It was a most successful day.
The yard sale raises money for Amma's North American tour. It pays for satsang advertising space in the Toronto and Seattle programme guides, helping toward the cost of the tour.
Thanks to everyone who helped – we couldn't do it without you – and a big thank-you to all who donated so generously.
