Cleaning Up the Guadalupe River

As part of Vishwa Seva Dinam, a day dedicated to selfless service as a heartfelt offering to our Beloved Amma, a few volunteers from MA Center San Ramon joined hands with volunteers from the South Bay Clean Creeks Coalition for a community cleanup along the Guadalupe River.

On Saturday, September 12, our volunteers participated in the TEAM 222 Cleanup at the Guadalupe River at Hedding Street, an event organized by the South Bay Clean Creeks Coalition. Together, volunteers worked along the service road, caring for and restoring the natural surroundings. Volunteers collected different types of trash and debris, including a long PVC pipe, tires, pieces of metal, plastic packaging, wrappers, and other debris. Together, an incredible 3,680 pounds of trash was removed from the Guadalupe River waterway.

This seva was offered with love by the volunteers of MA Center San Ramon as a heartfelt offering to our Beloved Amma, in the spirit of Vishwa Seva Dinam on September 27, Amma’s birthday. Vishwa Seva Dinam is a day dedicated to selfless service, bringing Amma’s vision of cleanliness, environmental responsibility, and care for our surroundings into action. Through seva, may we nurture our beautiful Mother Earth and make our world a little cleaner, greener, and more beautiful.

A heartfelt thank you to the South Bay Clean Creeks Coalition for organizing this wonderful service opportunity and for giving us the opportunity to join in caring for our shared environment.
