Vijayadashami, the tenth day of Navaratri, is also known as the day of victory. It is the day of the final Navaratri puja and a traditionally auspicious time for starting new ventures and beginning new learning.
Tuesday, October 20, 8:00–9:30 a.m. · Amrita Hall, MA Center San Ramon. The program includes a puja performed by a devotee, chanting and bhajans, followed by arati. Items offered for blessing on the eighth day of Navaratri will be ready for puja from 8:00 a.m.
Navaratri — "nine nights" in Sanskrit — honours the Divine Mother in three forms, three nights each: Durga, Lakshmi and Saraswati. It ends with Vijayadashami on the tenth day, a traditionally auspicious time to begin new ventures. At MA Center San Ramon: Durga Puja October 11–13, Lakshmi Puja October 14–16, Saraswati Puja October 17–19, and the Vijayadashami program on the morning of October 20.
