Amma's senior North American disciples Swami Dayamritananda Puri and Swamini Ambikamrita Prana led an Amrita Silent Retreat immersion in Hawaii from Saturday, January 31 to Friday, February 6, 2026.
Embarking on such a retreat brings one back to the center, to experience the deep inner peace and joy that is our true nature. Tuning out the noise of the material world and going inward to reconnect with our inner selves brings clarity, strength of mind, deep peace, and contentment. Amma has urged her disciples in the US to conduct extended silent meditation retreats for this very purpose.
The retreat was held on a beautiful pastoral property on the north shore of Oahu Island, surrounded by nature—bordered by mountains on one side and the ocean on the other. Swami Dayamritananda Puri and Swamini Ambikamrita Prana led daily sessions of morning Archana, Amrita Yoga, sitting and walking meditation, satsang (spiritual discourse), bhajans (devotional singing), and question-and-answer. Beach walks and seva (selfless service) were also included.
An auspicious Homa (sacred fire ceremony) was performed on Sunday morning, February 1st. Suitable for all levels of experience, the retreat included daily practice of the IAM-35® meditation.
