Ann Arbor’s Meals on Wheels program reduces hunger and food insecurity. It supports the dignity and independence of the homebound in the Ann Arbor area by delivering nutritiously balanced meals six days a week. Clients are primarily older adults or individuals with disabilities who cannot shop and cook for themselves.
Volunteers deliver the meals — and the visit doubles as a safety and wellness check. For many clients, a friendly volunteer is the only person they see all day. M.A. Center Michigan volunteers have delivered since 2004, on the second Saturday of each month.
