Welcome to Ann Arbor, Michigan!

The M.A. Center Michigan was inaugurated in 1997 and is situated on a 54-acre property just five miles from downtown Ann Arbor. The property is home to Amrita Farms, a 1,008-tree organic apple orchard, and a sacred grove established to protect the native flora and fauna, oxygen, and deep groundwater reserves of the surrounding area.

The center is the physical home dedicated to practicing Amma’s teachings, above all selfless service. We come together for a non-denominational service every Saturday, participate in community outreach projects such as Mother’s Kitchen and Meals on Wheels, and celebrate special events throughout the year — spiritual retreats, environmental workshops, and holiday celebrations.

A Community of Practice and Service

On Saturdays the center bustles with volunteers — pruning and harvesting in the orchard, cooking for neighbors in need, packing backpacks for Detroit students, and gathering for satsang in the evening. Fruit from the orchard is shared with the community, meals reach homeless shelters and homebound elders, and hand-written letters carry encouragement to people who need it most. Everything here grows from Amma’s simple teaching: love and serve.
