To mark Vishwa Seva Dinam and Amma’s 73rd birthday, MA Center Chicago volunteers planted 30 native Illinois oak trees, including Bur Oak, Red Oak, and Swamp Oak.
These beautiful native trees are an important part of Illinois’ ecosystem, providing food, shelter, and habitat for countless birds, insects, and other wildlife along with providing us with shade and nature’s goodness.
It was especially meaningful to see sevites of all ages come together to plant, serve, and learn; from young children to elders, everyone had a role to play. May these trees grow for generations to come, reminding us that even a small action of seva today can create a lasting impact for our planet and future generations.
