Welcome to the Austin Satsang

Our satsang is a warm, casual circle that gathers a couple of times a month to chant the names of the Divine Mother, read from Amma's teachings, sing bhajans, and meditate, ending with a potluck — and each summer we lend a hand at Amma's South Central programs in Dallas.

Whether you have known Amma for years or are simply curious, all are warmly welcome to join us.

When we dedicate ourselves solely to the well-being of others, it is our own mind that becomes pure. When you give your friend a bouquet of flowers, you are the one who first enjoys their beauty and fragrance. In the same way, you can derive happiness from selfless acts.

— Amma

Amma encourages devotees to gather regularly, whether weekly at a home or a hall, to sing, meditate, and pray together, and then to share a meal as a spiritual family. It is an atmosphere that steadies the mind, uplifts everyone present, and quietly shapes the children who grow up in it.

Satsang Schedule

Monthly

We gather twice a month (usually a group of five to twenty-five) for opening prayers, chanting the 108 Names of the Divine Mother, a reading from Amma's teachings, bhajans, arati, silent meditation, and a potluck. Directions and dates are shared through our amma-austin Google Group. Children and newcomers are always welcome.

Seva at Amma's Dallas Programs

Each summer, Amma's South Central programs take place in Dallas, and our satsang travels to lend a hand. There is always plenty to do, every willing volunteer is needed, and it is a joyful way to serve alongside the wider Amma family.

Seva
Children, never waste an opportunity to serve. The entire world looks up to those who have the heart to do selfless service.

— Amma
