The Hawaii Silent Retreat took place on the breathtaking North Shore of Oahu, where the mountains meet the ocean, birds sing and rainbows paint the sky. Spanning several acres just across from the beach, this serene setting offered the perfect backdrop for deep introspection and spiritual renewal.
At the heart of the retreat was the Temple, a sacred space where participants gathered for spiritual practice. Each day began with Archana (chanting), followed by yoga, meditation and satsang, and concluded with soulful evening bhajans. Beach meditations were woven throughout, allowing attendees to connect deeply with nature and embrace the tranquility of the Hawaiian landscape.
The retreat nourished both mind and body. The vegetarian cuisine featured tropical fruits, authentic Indian dishes and flavorful Italian meals, with chai and fresh fruit served between meals.
A defining feature was the presence of a community inspired by Amma's teachings of love and compassion, guided by Swami Dayamritānanda Puri and Swamini Ambikamrita Prana. Their wisdom created an atmosphere of profound connection, laughter and shared joy — a space to embrace the present moment and cultivate inner peace.
The experience was further enriched by the Ganapathi Homa, a sacred fire ceremony performed by Pujari Devidas under the vast Hawaiian sky. This deeply moving ritual filled the air with blessings, leaving participants with a sense of divine grace. Far more than an opportunity for silence, the retreat became a transformative journey of spiritual depth, community and pure joy.
