On Friday, March 14, 2024, during his visit to Toluca for a free public program, Swami Dayamritananda Puri visited a rural school in Mexico’s CONAFE system — a program of the Ministry of Public Education that brings basic education to children in the country’s most marginalized communities, where there is often no electricity, running water, or sewage.
Swamiji met with the coordinator of CONAFE’s educational services for the State of Mexico to discuss not only the comfort and needs of the children, but also of their parents, the women of the village, and the wider community. He announced that Embracing the World and the local Toluca–CDMX Amma Satsang would adopt the school’s children — helping provide for their basic necessities as well as proper educational supplies.
