On December 25, 2024, the Amritapuri Ashram came alive with the spirit of Christmas as Amma's devotees and international visitors from around the world gathered to celebrate. The evening's cultural program included a skit on discovering the true meaning of Christmas, the "Wave Dance" symbolizing the journey from individual to infinite consciousness, a Bharatanatyam performance honoring Lord Vishnu, and a clown act titled "Doors Fully Open" about love overcoming every obstacle.
One of the most moving moments came when devotees from Ukraine and Russia spontaneously performed traditional carols together, a quiet testament to unity amid global tensions. The celebration concluded with Amma singing bhajans and cutting a Christmas cake, personally distributing prasad to all who had gathered.
In her Christmas message, Amma reflected on the deeper significance of the day, reminding everyone that its true essence lies not in external celebrations but in embodying love and spiritual values.
The compassion of mahātmās serves as constant support and refuge for this Earth and the human race. Like the spring season, they infuse human hearts with the beauty of love and spread the fragrance of peace. Christmas reminds us of the remarkable and inspiring life of such a mahātmā.
