Civil 20 (C20) is one of the official Engagement Groups of the G20, providing a platform for Civil Society Organizations (CSOs) around the world to voice the people’s aspirations to G20 leaders.
At the C20 India 2023 Inception Conference, experts discussed the themes of the various working groups, and working-group coordinators presented the concept notes and activities for their respective areas. The meeting was an opportunity to highlight the positive role of civil society across all spheres of life, and how these activities contribute to the development of society along with a value system rooted in Indian culture and tradition.
Bringing together CSO representatives, eminent social activists, academicians, policy practitioners, and government representatives, the inception meeting explored the issues significant to understanding the role of CSOs in realizing a better society, and offered a forum to present past, present, and proposed initiatives aligned with the objectives of India’s G20 Presidency.
